We regularly improve and add new features to Amadine.I'm drawing illustrations for my articles (nothing fancy, nothing that could be called art, just basic technical stuff to make everything easier to understand) and I can't really find anything suitable. Thanks for your thorough Amadine evaluation. I’d still recommend downloading it, but only using it to bounce vectors in and out of for the warp feature, and if painting initial line work. If this was a beta, I’d say it’s amazing, but the problems with critical UI segments, and plethora of bugs make it frustrating to use beyond drafting out a design. Sometimes it adds, sometimes it intersects! Occasionally nodes will just…. It would be reasonably fixable, if annoying, if the boolian “and” operation wasn’t also buggy. BUGS GALORE! Problems with line rendering, both holes in odd places, and extra lines that can’t be removed. Gradients are saved oddly - the centres may move dramatically when imported, but the color progression will remain - so far seems to happen to about half the gradients? I’ve only done one project using it so far. No ability to save in a more cross-compatible format (often used for stock art, can’t remember what it’s called). There is at least one symbol that is used to mean two different things, so I keep hitting the wrong one. You can warp, rotate individual nodes - but only on the canvas! The menu option insists on altering the whole shape. Have to apply it the entire shape instead of targeting segments. here is no smoothing tool, there is a simplify setting, but very little control over how it will be applied, and I’ve had mixed results with it. No ability to tweak your pressure curve, but the lines turn out well, I just have a light hand so everything is extra thin. For some reason you can add layers of fill, stroke and effects to a shape, but you can’t delete them, only hide. Given the many gestures available, and some context dependant, I expected there would be a gesture to add nodes while in the pointer, but nope. You can change the width, angle, and size. The “customizable, professional vector brushes” they’re listing, are ovals. (Hopefully my other, more important review is still here, but there are a few other things I wanted to point out). Support for Apple Pencil and Apple Pencil 2.Export the entire document, a sheet or a selection JPEG, PNG, PDF and SVG.Edit paths and shapes that they form using the Knife, Scissors and Eraser tools.Convert points to corner points and smooth points.Add, remove and arrange the anchor points.Create paths using the Path and Draw tools.Draw illustrations with responsive and natural brushes.Create vector art using pressure sensitive tablets.Write text along a path or inside a shape.Perform union, subtract, intersect and exclude operations on selected objects.Add multiple strokes and fills, create unique stroke profiles using the Width tool.Use more than 30 vector design tools for selecting, drawing, editing, slicing and typing.View options: pixel preview, outline, guides and grid. ![]()
